North Goa Beaches

Goa is Famous for Beaches

The North Goa Beaches

A Beautiful View of Arambol Beach
Arambol Beach
Arambol beach way up north about 45 km from Panaji, comes under the bracket of ‘not so crowded beaches in Goa’. The unique feature is that this beach manages to look quite untouched and primitive though tourists looking for some quiet moments often frequent it. Arambol also has a fresh water lagoon just 200 meters from the sea.

A Peaceful View of Mandrem Beach

Mandrem, Ashvem and Morjim Beaches
About southwards from Arambol these are beautiful beaches with nice beach shack restaurants lined along the beach. It is recommended to sun bath in this beach in Goa. Morjim Beach is famous for its turtle nesting grounds.
Stuning View of Vagator Beach
Vagator Beach
The trademark of Goa is very well reflected in Vagator which is one of the most beautiful of the soft white sand beaches that Goa is famous for. This beach is just like one out of a picture postcard. On the north-west corner of the beach are the remains of the Chapora fort.

The Popular Anjuna Beach
Anjuna Beach
Anjuna beach is quite famous for its beach parties. The credit of the beach parties goes to the hippies. It was in the late 1950s to mid 1960s that Anjuna was “discovered” by the hippies. Every Wednesday, at around 11 am till sundown, Anjuna breaks into a riot of colors – The famous Anjuna Flea Market.

A Calm View of Baga Beach
Baga Beach
Baga 10 kms west of Mapusa, is basically an extension of Calangute beach with clean white sand. The north end of Baga is the best. The attractive estuary can be waded in low tide and a short walk around the headland leads to Anjuna beach.
Calangute Beach: The Most Crowded Beach of Goa

Calangute Beach
Calangute beach known as ‘Queen of Beaches’, possesses a unique beauty that cannot be found elsewhere. Calangute beach was a haven for the hippies, and the exquisite beauty of the Calangute beach soon spread around, bringing hordes of European tourists. And this trend has still been continuing… tourists come down to this small Indian state of Goa searching for this lovely beach.

Aerial View of Candolim Beach

Candolim-Sinquerim Beach
Candolim Beach is one of the most frequented and popular beaches of North Goa. This beach is quite peaceful than other beaches of Goa. It is one of the best beaches in Goa with international class facilities for water-skiing, para-sailing, fishing, scuba-diving and wind-surfing. Close by is the magnificent 17th century Fort Aguada which has now been converted in to a prison.

Tourists Enjoying at Miramar Beach

Miramar Beach
Comprising of a massive spread of sand, it is the capital city Panaji beach and is a recreational area for locales and the place is crowded every evening especially  on Sundays.

Dona Paula Beach
If you are looking at indulging in some water sports, then the best bet would be to head for Dona Paula beach. The Dona Paula beach also offers an opportunity to the tourists to have sunbath and buy cheap seaside goods from local vendors.
